At 132 metres above Adelaide, the highest residences in the city have been unveiled ahead of commencement of sales in the landmark Realm Adelaide building.

The development was designed by architectural practice Elenberg Fraser and will feature 320 one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, across 40 levels, as well as two separate and exclusive world-class wellness and entertainment retreats modelled on the best hotels internationally.

Crowned by two double storey penthouses boasting four bedrooms each, among the largest ever designed by Elenberg Fraser, Realm Adelaide aims to bring the first five-star hotel-like living experience to the city.

Elenberg Fraser Founder Callum Fraser said Realm Adelaide went where no local development had gone before, in height, amenity and design.

“Realm Adelaide’s golden geometric form will stand out on the Adelaide skyline, creating a strong architectural statement in the city,” he said.

“Its crowning penthouses elevate design and luxury, offering a never-seen-before living experience atop Adelaide, complemented by the type of lifestyle most only enjoy when travelling.

Realm Adelaide

“This will be Adelaide’s best address and the design response befits the calibre of resident that will be attracted to this unique building.”

Boasting the most amenity of an apartment building in Adelaide, Realm Adelaide offers two levels dedicated to health, wellbeing and entertaining.

The building’s eighth level, accessible to all residents, includes a CrossFit-enabled gym, accompanied by dining and games rooms as well as a lounge and outdoor entertaining zone.

Here, residents can enjoy views over Adelaide’s current skyline from the 25 metre lap pool and spa nestled among resort-like cabana seating.

Residents in the premium sky residences enjoy even more amenity, with a 500 square metre rooftop at level 39, offering the most panoramic views of the Adelaide hills.

This flexible indoor and outdoor space can be booked for private use, ensuring it will become a top destination for the well-connected.

Here, residents can enjoy a wellness centre featuring yoga studio and private massage suite, spa, sauna and steam room pods. For the socially-minded, a separate zone offers dining, lounge and entertaining facilities, a barbeque area and extensive seating on the outdoor terrace set among lush planting with a tranquil panoramic view of the hills.

“Befitting this prestigious address we sought inspiration from the European masters from Mies van der Rohe to Gio Ponti, those who invented the art of restrained design that exudes luxury,” Mr Fraser said.

“The interior design pays tribute to the site’s heritage through a natural, tonal material palette enhanced by subtle gold detailing that reference this past.”

The interior scheme follows through to all apartments, including the building’s statement penthouses, allowing everyone to enjoy the trappings of a luxury lifestyle.

Realm Adelaide’s two penthouses, priced around $5.5 million, are designed as homes in the sky, spanning more than 500 square metres each – the size of an average house in most capital cities.

Divided into retreat and relaxation zones, these premium homes each feature four bedrooms, all with their own ensuites and expansive robes. Formal and informal living zones plus a grand dining room are enhanced by a large natural stone fireplace; while a media room is the perfect place to watch the latest blockbuster.

Meanwhile, two kitchens allow the owner to host professional caterers for events, with a  butler’s pantry located downstairs behind the main kitchen and the secondary kitchen located upstairs, where the entertaining zone dominates.

Overlooking all that Adelaide has to offer the massive and private outdoor terrace is the place to watch the sun set with wine in hand upon one of the lounges located by a private spa. The bar facility and wine cellar also on offer make refreshing that sundowner drink a breeze.

Reflecting on the city from new heights, Elenberg Fraser’s first foray into Adelaide also reflects the legacy of the gold rush.

Realm Adelaide

Realm Adelaide will revive Adelaide’s historic Assay House, built in 1858, by restoring its façade and potentially adding a thriving double height bar and restaurant, including outdoor rooftop terrace for enjoying a drink on a balmy summer evening.

The building’s golden tones are in tribute to Assay House’s past as the location where lucky gold rush prospectors took their gold to be weighed and melted into the Adelaide Pound, which made the city the first British colony to issue its own coins.

“Like all great pieces of architecture, the interior and exterior of Realm Adelaide listen to each other and communicates a cohesive story, one steeped in Adelaide’s past whilst looking forward to an exciting future,” Mr Fraser said.

Realm Adelaide’s lobby is designed to provide an experience akin to arrival at an international five star hotel, with a lavish golden and stone inlaid floor and building concierge to greet guests.

Premium apartment owners will be treated to their own private lift lobby, accessed via a secure entry upon passing through the lobby’s sculptural and curved feature wall that cleverly integrates the mail room into a statement piece of artwork.

A neutral palette features gold hints, with kitchens treated to brass details and grey timber laminate joinery, with timber veneer to all penthouses, as well as concrete-style reconstituted stone benchtops throughout.

Realm Adelaide is being developed by Parallel Property, a private Sydney developer with family links to Adelaide.
