US property group Pembroke’s T&G building in Melbourne has just revealed its latest tenancy, with upmarket retailer Bottega Veneta opening its first Australian flagship store in the heritage building.

The 1928-built example of neo-renaissance architecture was once described as “Melbourne’s most beautiful building”, and has undergone significant refurbishment over the past year.

The premium retailer’s boutique measures approximately 282sq m, and will showcase an extensive range of Bottega Veneta products for both women and men.

Versace has also been secured for the T&G Building with a 307-square metre tenancy for a stand-alone store.

Bates Smart were appointed architects for T&G’s refurbishment on behalf of Pembroke. Construction contractor Built were appointed for the refurbishment project early in 2017.

The T&G Building is located on the corner of Collins and Russell Streets, at the Paris-end of Collins Street. It will offer 43,000 square metres of prime grade commercial office and retail space, enhanced by a reconfigured atrium and expansive floorplates up to 4,000 square metres.

Pembroke purchased the T&G Building, one of Collins Street’s best-known properties, for $275 million in 2015.

Early last year Accenture were secured as a major tenant taking nearly 8,000 square meters of space on a ten-year lease across nearly two floors. Accenture joins long-term tenant of the T&G Building IOOF, which had previously committed to another ten-year lease, including doubling its occupancy to 8,000 square metres.

The T&G Building will also be home to two levels of co-working space with flexible workspace provider Spaces signing a ten-year lease for levels one and two.
